David Constantine is the co-founder of Motivation, a charity which initiates self-sustaining projects to enhance the quality of life of people with mobility disabilities. Motivation is recognised as a leader in designing, producing and distributing high-quality, low-cost wheelchairs and delivering innovative training programmes to empower people with disabilities and promote their inclusion.
Since their formation in 1991 they have worked primarily in developing countries, but in the last few years they have been championing the transformative effect of wheelchair sports, such as tennis, basketball and racing, in the UK as well as overseas.
In 1982, at the age of 21 years, David Constantine sustained a life shattering spinal injury which left him a quadriplegic wheelchair user. David has dedicated his professional life to giving people with disabilities the right tools to live independently, with confidence and full of hope for their futures.
David will be talking about his own personal experiences and how they shaped the tremendous work that Motivation do in empowering people with mobility impairments across the world, creating opportunities for inclusion and providing freedom through mobility.
